Cricket

Ed Smith was chief selector for England cricket for three years. During that period, England won the World Cup for the first time and England enjoyed a winning record against every other international team.

As a player for Kent, Middlesex and England, Ed scored over 12,000 first-class runs at an average of 42. He also captained Middlesex, with the club winning its first major trophy for 15 years.

In October 2026, Ed will join the ECB Board as Non-Executive Director.
